Whats The Need For Managing One-Self

In management, there are 4 M's - man, material, machine and money. These are the basic resources that a person manages in business or commercial situations. But there is another resource which a manager forgets and that’s his own self. Till now ‘management’ is to be considered as a technique for ‘managing men’ i.e managing others. So a manager devotes his entire time and energy to manage team men. Perhaps most of us believe that self does not need any management. But it should be noted that our self is the most valuable asset. Positive thinking is a powerful tonic for our mind. Therefore, full of positive thoughts are considered necessary for the overall emotional and physical health of human being. We are growth seeking creatures. Purpose is necessary for our health, motivation and survival to continue doing efforts in life. Self-management means, managing a sense of balance (balancing action with relaxation, work with home, head with heart, workplace etc).
