Self-management means, managing a sense of balance (balancing action with relaxation, work with home, head with heart, work in office, schedules & meetings etc). Self-management is a science that helps one to attain knowledge & skills for one’s own self. Rather than managing subordinates or work at office, its very important to manage yourself. Once you are able to manage yourself, all of your efforts will be fruitful whether its in office or play or at home.
There are few findings that can help you manage yourself:
1. Know who are you
Can be referred as "self-awareness". Everyone has name, identity, social position, interests, likes & dislikes etc. You should know about all this i.e what suits you and what you expect in future.
2. Your background
You should know your family history. This may by creating an affect on your "self-awareness". Your family or parental influence could be a reason why you like one thing and hates the other.
3. Whats your goal
Do you know what you want? When your journey will end and where? Setup some goal, more precisely shortterm goal which could be easy to achieve. If you achieve these small goals, you will feel motivated and confident to achieve your bigger goals.
4. Setup priorities
You should set priorities in all area of your day-to-day transactions. You could have 5 goals of your dreams. Rather than working hard on these 5 in the same time, you should set their priority and work on them accordingly. This way you will be able to devote quality time & efforts.
5. Procedure / Process to follow
If you have set your goals and priorities, time to be build the process you should be following to achieve it. This will help you know where you stand after a week's time and will help you to again define your future process for the same.
6. Visualize your dream
You should always visualize your final goal. See yourself at the state when you had achieved your goal. Think, how would you feel. This will give you a motivation factor and boost your energy to fight daily pains in order to achieve your final goal.
