Parents play an important role in helping children feel normal and healthy. All parents have complaints that their kids don't eat properly or they don't eat healthy food at all. Here are few tips for you:
How many times you say, "my kid wants only snacks". All children want snacks. They do like them very much as compared to normal food of chapattis and vegetables. Continuous snacking may lead to overeating and hence obesity. But planned way of having snack can be nutritious food.
* Serve plain fresh, frozen or canned vegetables or fruits.
* Use low fat or fat free cheese and yogurt.
* Dry fruits like nuts, almonds are rich in healthy oil.
* Give them bread or packet chips, cheese balls with fruits and low fat cheese spreaded.
* Give them creamy icecream. Offer them half melted if their throat doesn't allow frozen food.
Plan healthy food at specific times during the day. If you are not sure on what should be the schedule or what should be the ingredients of the diet, consult physician.
Let your kids watch some television serial while having food. When they are engrossed in watching TV, they often forgets the taste what they really want. It has been noticed that while watching TV, kids can eat the vegetable they often don't wish to.
Get more family members involved in your kids eating time. While playing they forget what they are eating.
You yourself should not order cold-drinks, french-fries or burgers if you do not want your kids to eat that.
Tip: Dark green & yellow fruits & vegetables are good source of vitamin A.
